Workshop “The power of a learning culture as a resource for social learning.”

Social learning is urgent in view of the challenges we face in society. Learning is the lever in dealing with changing circumstances. But how does an individual, a team, an organization, a complex system such as a society learn?

In this workshop we show and experience how you can understand complexity. We use the chaos game from Margaret Wheatley's work "Leadership and the new science". This shows that the values from which players take up a social task form fixed patterns over time. Only when players adopt different values and principles will the practice look different. The workshop provides a series of handles to arrive at different values and principles in acting for yourself, your team, your organization or system. The problem in practice is that those involved are not always aware of the values and principles they use. It is therefore essential to pay attention to this in an effective but not polarizing way. Finally, the workshop also discusses the design of social learning, its design and organization. (The national government is not or hardly able to organize it, partly because the government is reluctant to initiate change (the market has to do it). But if you reduce it to a smaller local scale, it is possible. does social learning start with the government or with local initiatives or both? This is one of the questions we focus on in the workshop.
